Welcome to GazetaLOL. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile app for news summaries.

We believe privacy is a fundamental right. This policy is written for full transparency.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

GazetaLOL is built with privacy by default. We do NOT collect:

• ❌ Any personally identifiable data (name, email, address, etc.)
• ❌ Any precise location information
• ❌ Any advertising identifiers (IDFA, Android ID, etc.)
• ❌ Any detailed usage or browsing data
• ❌ Any contact information
• ❌ Any photos or media from your device
• ❌ Any reading history

3. Data Stored Locally

The only data related to your use of GazetaLOL is stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers:

3.1 Favorites

When you add a category to Favorites, that preference is saved locally via secure iOS/Android storage. We can’t access it.

3.2 Article View Count

To manage interstitial ad display, we count (locally) how many articles you open. This counter stays on your device and is never shared.

4. In-App Content

GazetaLOL downloads content from our servers (summaries, images) to display to you. These requests are:

• ✅ Anonymous (no personal identifiers)
• ✅ Untracked
• ✅ Secured via HTTPS

We cannot associate these requests with a specific user.

5. Advertising

GazetaLOL shows ads via Google AdMob to support the app’s free development.

5.1 How ads work

Google AdMob may collect certain information to serve relevant ads, such as:

• Technical device information (model, OS)
• Ad performance data
• Advertising identifier (if you allow it)

5.2 Your ad choices

iOS: Limit ad tracking in Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising → Disable “Personalized Ads”.

Android: Reset your Advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads → Reset Advertising ID.

6. Sharing Articles

When you use the share feature, the article text is shared through your device’s native apps (Messages, Mail, social networks, etc.). GazetaLOL does not participate in this process and collects no information about your shares.

7. Third-Party Services

GazetaLOL uses the following third-party services:

7.1 Content Hosting

DigitalOcean Spaces: Our articles and images are hosted on DigitalOcean. Content requests are anonymous and cannot identify you.

7.2 Advertising

Google AdMob: Manages ad display. Subject to Google’s privacy policy.

8. Security

Even though we collect no personal data, we take security seriously:

• 🔒 All communications are encrypted via HTTPS
• 🔒 No user data on servers = no breach risk
• 🔒 Local data is protected by iOS/Android security

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have rights regarding personal data. Since GazetaLOL collects no personal data, these rights don’t directly apply:

• Access: Nothing to access
• Rectification: Nothing to correct
• Erasure: Simply delete the app
• Portability: Nothing to transfer

10. Children

GazetaLOL does not specifically target children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us at [email protected].

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

Material changes will be notified via the app or by email if we have your address (currently, we do not).

12. Your Choices

You’re always in control:

• Remove Favorites: Use the button in each category
• Reset the app: Delete and reinstall
• Disable personalized ads: Via iOS/Android settings
• Stop using the app: Delete it—no trace remains

13. Governing Law

This policy is governed by French and EU law (GDPR). GazetaLOL complies with all applicable data-protection laws.
